Groton Assembly of God Church's Puppet Ministry is called 'Groton Praisin' Puppets'. We have been ministering to children for decades.

In 2007 we decided to create our first puppet float for the Groton 'Olde' Home Days Parade and are proud to say, we took first place! We have continued in the parade almost every year since then and placed numerous times. It's a delight to see the excited children as we approach them down Main St.

In 2008 we included a similar float along with a wonderfully made 321 Penguins spaceship by one of our most creative team members, Chuck Hendrickson. It was fashioned after the VBS theme our church hosted that year.

One year (2010) we wrote and sang our own song about the All-American Town of Groton which our puppets performed for us again in the town parade-winning first place.

Anyone who is interesting in reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ in a fun and creative way are welcome to come and join us. We do monthly puppet shows during the school year every 3rd Sunday of the month in our church Fellowship Hall at about 11:30 am.

Most of our puppets we make ourselves, but we use a few purchased ones as well. We are always in need of script writers, construction helpers, sewing help, scenery developers, audio track mixing, voices and tele-prompter set up too.

We invite others to use our pre-recorded scripts available online at The newer ones scroll automatically too!

Thanks to all those who helped make it happen!!!
